The Irish Business Network of New Zealand (IBNNZ) launched its first event on February 19 at PwC in Auckland.
The keynote speaker on the night was Grainne Moss, who in her role as managing director of the healthcare company, BUPA Care Services New Zealand, is one of the few female managing directors in the country.
Originally from Belfast, Grainne became the first Irish woman to swim the English Channel at the age of 17 and took on the Cook Strait following her move to New Zealand. At the IBNNZ launch evening in a presentation entitled ‘Swimming with Sharks’, Grainne shared the lessons she has learned from sport that have helped her in business.
Tickets for the IBNNZ’s first event sold out, with a further 20 people on the waiting list. The attendees came from a variety of industry sectors from banking and IT to media and hospitality.
